DAHD Launches Redesigned Website to Strengthen Digital Governance
New Delhi, 13 October 2026: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, has launched a revamped website compliant with the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) Version 3.0, marking a step towards improving digital governance and public access to departmental information.

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, launched the platform. Developed in alignment with guidelines introduced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the website aims to make government information and services more accessible, transparent and user-friendly.
The Minister highlighted the importance of digital platforms in advancing the Digital India vision and the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance. He also congratulated the DAHD information technology team and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for their contribution to the initiative.
Multilingual Support and Improved Navigation for Users
The redesigned website incorporates features intended to simplify access to information for citizens, livestock farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
Its key features include:
- Advanced search: Helps users locate departmental information and scheme-related resources.
- Multilingual access: Integration with Bhashini supports access to information across languages.
- Persona-led navigation: Organises website navigation around different user needs.
- Centralised content management: Supports more consistent management and presentation of departmental information.
- Improved accessibility: Aims to provide a more uniform and convenient digital experience.
The website functions as a central information hub for departmental programmes, guidelines, resources and associated digital platforms.
Digital Access to Major Livestock and Dairy Schemes
The DAHD website provides information on several flagship government initiatives, including:
- Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF): Supports eligible infrastructure development in the animal husbandry value chain.
- Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM): Focuses on the development and conservation of indigenous bovine breeds and improvements in bovine productivity.
- National Livestock Mission (NLM): Supports livestock-sector development and entrepreneurship.
- Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP): Addresses livestock health and the control of animal diseases.
By bringing information on these programmes together, the platform is intended to help stakeholders identify relevant schemes, understand guidelines and access departmental resources more conveniently.
The revamped website is available at www.dahd.gov.in.
Impact on Hospitality, Hotels and Food Supply Chains
Although the website launch is primarily a digital governance initiative, easier access to livestock and dairy-related information may have indirect benefits for India’s hospitality and foodservice sectors.
1. Dairy procurement and hotel operations
Hotels, restaurants, cafés and institutional caterers depend on reliable supplies of milk and dairy products. Better access to information on dairy development initiatives could help relevant producers and supply-chain participants understand government programmes that may support sectoral capacity.
2. Food processing and animal husbandry infrastructure
Information on AHIDF and other livestock-related schemes may be useful to eligible businesses exploring infrastructure development, processing and value addition. Any benefits will depend on the scheme’s eligibility conditions and applicable guidelines.
3. Food safety and livestock health awareness
Improved access to livestock health information could support awareness among farmers, suppliers and other stakeholders. For hospitality operators, animal health remains relevant to the wider supply chain for animal-origin foods, although the website launch itself does not introduce new food safety requirements.
4. Support for rural enterprises and local sourcing
The availability of information on livestock entrepreneurship and dairy development programmes may help eligible rural businesses explore opportunities to strengthen production and supply networks. Over time, stronger supplier capacity could benefit hotels and restaurants sourcing dairy and other animal-origin products.
5. Travel and tourism: Indirect implications
The platform may support businesses connected to rural tourism, agricultural experiences and local food supply chains by making departmental information easier to access. However, the PIB announcement does not introduce a direct tourism initiative or a new hospitality-sector scheme.
Outlook
The launch of the DBIM-compliant DAHD website represents a digital access and governance improvement rather than a new financial assistance programme. Its practical value will depend on how effectively users can find relevant information, understand scheme requirements and navigate associated services.
For the hospitality industry, the main relevance lies in improved access to information concerning dairy development, livestock infrastructure, animal health and entrepreneurship programmes that may influence the wider food supply chain.
