New Delhi, September 16, 2026: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) is gearing up for Special Campaign 6, following its implementation of cleanliness, file disposal and pendency-reduction measures under Special Campaign 5.0.

The Department said it will align its activities with the key parameters and objectives of Special Campaign 6, with an emphasis on measurable outcomes and long-term institutional impact.

DAHD’s Performance Under Special Campaign 5.0

DAHD participated in Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2025, following guidelines issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

During the campaign, the Department met its targets for several categories of pending matters. It disposed of all 3 PMO references, 5 Parliamentary Assurances, 8 State Government references, 214 public grievances and 35 public grievance appeals.

The Department also disposed of 11 references from Members of Parliament, against a target of 15, and completed one identified initiative for easing rules and processes.

Over 24,000 Physical Files Reviewed

File management was a major component of the campaign. DAHD reviewed 24,645 physical files, of which 22,648 were weeded out.

The Department also reviewed 680 e-files, with 182 e-files closed.

Cleanliness activities were carried out at 221 sites, while approximately 5,334 sq. ft. of space was freed through scrap disposal and file weeding.

Pendency Clearance Continued Through August 2026

In line with DARPG directions, campaign activities continued beyond the formal Special Campaign 5.0 period.

Between November 2025 and August 2026, DAHD reported the disposal of:

  • 57 references from Members of Parliament
  • 2 Parliamentary Assurances
  • 4 Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) references
  • 2,404 public grievances
  • 5 PMO references
  • 182 public grievance appeals

During the same period, 3,786 e-files were reviewed and 3,702 were closed.

The Department also reviewed 82 physical files, carried out cleanliness activities at two sites and generated ₹2.15 lakh through office scrap disposal, freeing approximately 500 sq. ft. of space.

Special Campaign 6 to Focus on Sustained Administrative Efficiency

With preparations now underway for Special Campaign 6, DAHD said its activities will focus on achieving measurable outcomes and creating a longer-term impact.

The campaign is expected to build on the Department’s work in file management, grievance redressal, cleanliness, digitisation and disposal of pending matters, while strengthening these practices as part of routine administration.

Impact on Food, Hospitality and Tourism

Although the campaign is primarily administrative, efficient functioning of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying can have indirect implications for the wider food and hospitality ecosystem.

Faster disposal of public grievances and administrative references can support more responsive engagement with stakeholders across the livestock, dairy and poultry sectors. These sectors are important suppliers to hotels, restaurants, catering businesses and food-processing units.

Digitisation and improved file management can also contribute to more streamlined government-business interactions for entrepreneurs, farmers and livestock-sector enterprises.

For hospitality and food businesses, a more responsive livestock and dairy administration can support the broader objective of maintaining efficient food supply chains, animal-health systems and sectoral services, which ultimately contribute to the availability and reliability of dairy, poultry and other animal-based food products.
