The Faculty of Hospitality Management (FHM) at Amrapali University successfully hosted an engaging and industry-focused workshop on Fusion Desserts, led by internationally acclaimed pastry expert Chef Deekshyant Karki.
Currently serving as Pastry Chef at Rooh Restaurant, Chef Karki is recognized for his innovative approach to modern desserts, seamlessly blending traditional flavors with contemporary pastry techniques. His international exposure and refined culinary style have positioned him among emerging global pastry professionals, bringing world-class expertise to aspiring chefs in India.
Held at the FHM Bakery Lab, the workshop focused on the art and science of modern dessert creation. Chef Karki shared in-depth knowledge on dessert structuring, flavor pairing, texture balancing, and the application of molecular gastronomy in pastry arts. His session provided students with a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insights into global culinary standards and evolving dessert trends.


A key highlight of the workshop was the hands-on training session, where students actively participated in preparing and assembling innovative dessert components. Chef Karki emphasized the importance of creativity, precision, and presentation, encouraging students to push boundaries while maintaining technical excellence.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across multiple programs, including BHMCT and DHO, making it highly interactive and enriching. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Negi, Head of the Culinary Department, and coordinated by Chef Vikram Kholiya and Chef Mohit Arya, Assistant Professors at FHM.
Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Singh, Dean FHM, also interacted with students, sharing valuable industry insights, motivating them, and reinforcing the importance of skill development in the hospitality sector.
