Agriculture Department Builds on Special Campaign 5.0
During Special Campaign 5.0, DA&FW conducted cleanliness activities across its headquarters, attached and subordinate offices, PSUs and other organisations across the country.
Activities included cleaning public places and plantation drives, alongside efforts to improve grievance redressal relating to the implementation of agricultural schemes.
The Department operates the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for citizens, including farmers. It has also developed dedicated grievance mechanisms linked to flagship programmes such as PM-KISAN and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
A workshop on public grievances and Special Campaign 5.0 was organised on October 9, 2025, with support from DARPG. The campaign also included reviews and guidance for officials to improve grievance disposal.
E-Waste Turned Into Agricultural Models
One of the notable initiatives under Special Campaign 5.0 was the focus on e-waste disposal and waste-to-wealth practices.
Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institutes under DA&FW used e-waste materials to create models of agricultural equipment, including drones, tractors and cultivators. These models were displayed during the campaign workshop and were subsequently recognised as a best practice under the Waste to Wealth category.
The approach provides an example of how discarded electronic materials can be repurposed for educational and awareness-building activities within the agricultural sector.
Grievance Redressal Remains a Key Focus
DA&FW’s grievance redressal system combines CPGRAMS with dedicated platforms for specific agricultural schemes.
The Krishi Rakshak Portal, for instance, provides a single-window mechanism for farmers seeking resolution of grievances related to the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
The emphasis on grievance resolution is expected to continue under Special Campaign 6.0, alongside efforts to reduce pending work and streamline government records.

Impact on Hospitality, Food, Travel & Tourism
While Special Campaign 6.0 is primarily an administrative initiative, its focus areas have indirect relevance for the hospitality and tourism ecosystem, particularly in areas where government offices interact with farmers, food businesses and tourism stakeholders.
1. Hygiene and Cleanliness Standards
The institutionalisation of cleanliness and better workplace hygiene reinforces the importance of clean public-facing infrastructure. For tourism destinations, transport hubs and visitor-facing government facilities, consistent cleanliness can contribute to the overall visitor experience.
2. Food Supply Chain and Farmer Services
Faster grievance resolution and more accessible agricultural services can indirectly support farmers and agricultural supply chains. For hotels, restaurants and food businesses dependent on reliable farm and food-product supply, more responsive agricultural administration can contribute to a better operating environment.
3. E-Waste and Sustainable Operations
The focus on segregation, disposal and waste-to-wealth practices aligns with the hospitality industry’s growing emphasis on responsible waste management. Hotels, restaurants and institutional kitchens also generate significant quantities of electronic and equipment-related waste through IT systems, kitchen equipment and operational infrastructure.
4. Rural and Agri-Tourism
Improved agricultural administration and farmer-facing services can support the wider rural economy, which increasingly intersects with farm tourism, culinary tourism and destination-based food experiences.
Industry Takeaway
Special Campaign 6.0 places cleanliness, administrative efficiency, grievance redressal and responsible e-waste management at the centre of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare’s October 2026 drive. For the hospitality and tourism industry, the broader relevance lies in stronger public-service delivery, cleaner institutional environments and greater emphasis on sustainable waste management—areas that increasingly influence food supply chains and visitor-facing destinations.
