With a shared focus on operational excellence, team leadership and guest-centric service, both appointments bring a wealth of expertise to their respective roles at the hotel.

With over nine years of experience in housekeeping operations, Mr. Mayank Gupta has built his career across some of India’s most distinguished luxury hospitality brands. Throughout his career, Mr. Gupta has led housekeeping teams of 30 to 45 associates across high-volume hotel environments, with a consistent focus on quality assurance, service standards, inventory management and cost control. His contributions have earned him several accolades, including Manager of the Year 2024 and multiple Manager of the Month recognitions at The St. Regis Goa Resort, as well as Manager of the Month at The Ritz-Carlton Pune in December 2025. At The St. Regis Mumbai, he was recognised with a Service Award and BSA Champion honour, and achieved a 100% cleanliness score in a brand standards audit in 2019. He holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from Rizvi College of HMCT, Mumbai.

Joining the Food & Beverage leadership team, Mr. Sanjay Sharma brings nearly 15 years of experience spanning luxury and five-star hotels across India, London and Dubai. Prior to joining The Leela Mumbai, Mr. Sanjay Sharma served as Restaurant Manager – Multi Outlets at JW Marriott Juhu Mumbai and has previously held leadership positions at Le Méridien Hotel & Conference Centre Dubai, Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Grosvenor House Jumeirah London.

His experience encompasses restaurant operations, beverage management, banquet sales, outlet openings, concept development and large-scale social events. During his tenure at Le Méridien Dubai, Mr. Sharma played an instrumental role in driving the performance of a 220-cover Mexican restaurant and bar, increasing its average per cover by 35% through a refreshed entertainment strategy, staff upselling initiatives and menu redesign. He also led the relaunch of Bounty Beets, a healthy, vegan and pet-friendly restaurant concept, overseeing key aspects including menu development, team hiring, operating equipment and uniform planning.

Further reflecting his commercial and operational acumen, Mr. Sharma spearheaded the development and launch of a new coffee menu that contributed to a 10% increase in outlet revenue, while also implementing inventory and wastage controls that reduced beverage costs. His experience extends to developing family brunch concepts and leading weddings and social events, giving him a comprehensive understanding of contemporary food and beverage operations.

Mr. Sharma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Sikkim Manipal University and an MBA in Hospitality Management from the University of Wales, and has completed the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines.
