Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda to launch the book on May 26 in New Delhi

Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the release of his new book Apnapan, a personal and political memoir based on his 35-year association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Shri Chouhan described the book as an intimate account of his experiences with the Prime Minister through decades of organisational work, governance, political strategy and nation-building.

The book will be formally launched on May 26, 2026, at the NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi, in the presence of former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.

According to Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the book traces his long association with Shri Narendra Modi beginning with the 1991 Ekta Yatra.

He noted that what began as an organisational association gradually evolved through multiple phases of public life, including his tenure as Chief Minister and later as a Union Minister.

The minister said Apnapan reflects not only political experiences but also personal learnings, values and inspirations drawn from working alongside PM Modi over more than three decades.

Book Explores Leadership, Governance and Organisation

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the book offers readers insights into:

Recalling incidents from the Ekta Yatra period, Shri Chouhan said the book highlights moments reflecting PM Modi’s empathy, organisational discipline and people-centric leadership style.

He added that the memoir attempts to present a close-up perspective of the leadership journey from organisational work to national governance.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Apnapan is aimed particularly at young readers interested in public service, governance and leadership.

According to him, the book carries the message that meaningful national transformation is driven not merely by positions of power but by discipline, commitment, service and connection with people.

The minister described the book as both a personal narrative and a broader reflection on India’s political and social transformation over the last three decades.
