The Orchid Hotel Mumbai has announced the appointment of Gaurav Shiva as its new General Manager.
With over 29 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, Gaurav brings with him extensive expertise across hotel operations, culinary, food and beverage, sales and marketing, and business performance management. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles with leading hospitality brands including Taj Group of Hotels, Carnival Cruise Lines, Carlson Hotels & Resorts, Accor Hotels and Royal Orchid hotel.
A passionate hospitality professional with culinary roots, Gaurav graduated at the top of his class from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad. He began his career with the Taj Group, gaining experience across more than a dozen properties before moving overseas to work with luxury cruise liners in the United States. His international journey also included time at the renowned three Michelin-star restaurant Georges Blanc in France and leading culinary development initiatives at Carnival Cruise Lines.
Returning to India, Gaurav played a key role in several landmark hotel launches and leadership assignments. His journey includes spearheading the launch of Radisson Resort & Spa, Alibaug, and later taking on multiple leadership roles with Accor Hotels, including Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Assistant Manager- Sales and Marketing, Food and bevrage, Executive Assistant Manager- Operations and General Manager positions. He has also led successful pre-opening projects and hotel repositioning initiatives across Bengaluru, Mysore, Goa and Chennai.
Prior to joining The Orchid Hotel Mumbai, Gaurav held General Manager and General Manager Delegate positions with Royal Orchid Hotels at their flagship hotel in Bengaluru and Accor Hotels, where he built a strong reputation for driving operational excellence, nurturing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
