Jaipur: Rajasthan recorded 28.79 lakh domestic tourist visits across 14 major Jain temples and pilgrimage centres between January and June 2026, according to destination-wise data from the state tourism department. Dilwara Jain Temples in Mount Abu led the list, followed by Nakoda Jain Tirth in Balotra and Chamatkar Jain Tirth in Sawai Madhopur.
Dilwara recorded 11,44,172 visits during the six-month period, while Nakoda received 4,86,500. Chamatkar Jain Tirth registered 2,66,243 visits, followed by Pawapuri Temple in Sirohi with 2,58,788 and Jirawala Jain Temple, also in Sirohi, with 1,92,310.
Ranakpur Jain Temple in Pali district recorded 1,71,527 visits. Tijara Jain Temple in Khairthal-Tijara received 1,12,400, while Andeshwar Jain Tirth in Banswara registered 98,920 visits.
The figures indicate a substantial domestic visitor base across Rajasthan, with major pilgrimage destinations spread across several districts.

Three prominent Jain pilgrimage sites in Sirohi district, Dilwara, Pawapuri and Jirawala, together recorded 15,95,270 domestic visits during the first half of 2026. This represented more than half of the combined visits reported across the 14 destinations.
Dilwara remained the largest destination by footfall. The temple complex is known for its marble architecture, intricately carved pillars and ornamental ceilings. Its location at Mount Abu also connects religious tourism with the hill station and surrounding heritage attractions.
Nakoda Jain Tirth ranked second, attracting nearly 4.87 lakh visits. Ranakpur, dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara Adinath, drew more than 1.71 lakh visitors. Its extensive marble structure and carved pillars make it a prominent destination for both pilgrims and heritage visitors.
The remaining destinations also reported domestic visits during the six-month period. Soniji Ki Nasiyan in Ajmer received 50,919 visitors, while Bhandashah Jain Temple in Bikaner recorded 23,500.

Shri Adinath Jain Tirth at Chandkhedi in Jhalawar registered 22,721 visits. Nageshwar Parshwanath Jain Tirth at Unhel, also in Jhalawar, received 18,671. Jahajpur Jain Temple in Bhilwara recorded 17,825 visits, while Rishabhdev Jain Tirth in Udaipur registered 14,745.
The destinations vary in scale and architectural character. Their distribution also provides scope to link pilgrimage travel with nearby historic towns, forts, museums and other cultural attractions.
The first-half figures offer a basis for destination-specific planning. High-footfall centres such as Dilwara and Nakoda require visitor facilities suited to larger volumes, while smaller pilgrimage sites could gain visibility through regional tourism circuits.
Improved wayfinding, parking, last-mile connectivity and multilingual information services could support visitors across the network. Digital guides and verified historical information could also help explain the architectural and cultural significance of the temples.
Linking multiple pilgrimage centres within a region could encourage visitors to explore beyond individual temples and extend their stays. Rajasthan already has a geographically distributed network of Jain religious sites, with the January-June 2026 data highlighting the scale of domestic travel to these destinations.
