20 October 2026 – Aman at Sea today announces the appointment of Ertan Vasvi as Captain of Amangati, its first ocean-going luxury motor yacht. Developed through a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, Amangati brings Aman’s signature principles of space, privacy and tranquility to the world’s oceans, departing Palma de Mallorca on 7 May 2027 for its debut season of Mediterranean voyages, with Caribbean itineraries following in the Autumn.
Bringing almost two decades at sea in ultra-luxury and expedition cruising to the role, Captain Vasvi will lead all nautical and marine operations aboard Amangati, working alongside the shoreside team through the final phase of construction and into the inaugural season. He will also assemble and train the deck and bridge teams who will serve the yacht’s first guests.
Captain Vasvi began his career with Silversea (2009–2018), serving as Officer of the Watch and Safety Officer before rising to Staff Captain across both the expedition and classic fleets, where he led the nautical and deck program. He joined Seabourn in 2018 as Staff Captain, and from 2021 spent two years in Genoa as shoreside lead for deck, nautical and expedition operations through the construction and delivery of two first-in-class vessels, taking delivery of both and leading their inauguration. He has held command since 2023. Captain Vasvi holds a master’s degree from the Nautical Academy at the Technical University of Varna, Bulgaria.
“Amangati occupies a space that has not existed before, between traditional cruising and a private superyacht charter, and that asks something different of a crew. At 94 guests, technical command and genuine hospitality are held in the same hands. To join while the ship is still in build is a rare privilege and I look forward to welcoming our first guests aboard in May 2027.”

Currently under construction at T. Mariotti S.p.A in Genoa and designed in partnership with SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design, one of the world’s finest yacht design firms, the 180-metre (600-foot), nine-deck Amangati accommodates only 94 guests and offers a level of spatial generosity rarely achieved at sea. Spanning 1,190 square metres (12,817 square feet) across two decks, the Aman Spa, the largest in its category, features eight ocean-facing treatment suites, each extending onto a private terrace with an open-air whirlpool. All 47 suites open onto expansive private terraces of their own, with full-height windows framing uninterrupted sea views, while four signature restaurants, The Jazz Club, Selora and the Marina shape the natural rhythms of the day. With a dedicated Suite Host for every suite, Aman’s notions of peace, sanctuary and seclusion find a bold new expression in a true, private superyacht experience.
Amangati’s inaugural Mediterranean season begins on 7 May 2027, with a first Caribbean season to follow in Autumn 2027.
