The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau is all set to host a three-city roadshow across Hyderabad on September 26, Surat on September 28 and Pune on September 30, 2026, with a focused objective of strengthening Sri Lanka’s positioning as a preferred destination for Indian weddings and celebrations.

The initiative will bring together leading wedding planners and tourism industry members across the three cities, creating a platform to showcase Sri Lanka’s diverse wedding proposition and engage directly with the professionals who are shaping India’s rapidly growing destination wedding market.

Senior representative from Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau together with Sri Lanka missions in India will participate in the roadshow and engage with wedding planners through dedicated networking and business interactions. The delegation will highlight Sri Lanka’s wide range of wedding possibilities, from luxury beachfront celebrations and intimate destination ceremonies to culturally immersive experiences and bespoke multi-day wedding festivities.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will be hosting a press conference in each city, providing an opportunity for senior representatives to interact with the media and share insights into Sri Lanka’s market strategies for India. This media outreach activity aims to further amplify Sri Lanka’s wedding proposition and generate awareness around the destination’s unique venues, hospitality, and experiences.

“India is an extremely important market for Sri Lanka, and the Indian wedding segment presents a significant opportunity for us to deepen our engagement. The growing interest from Indian couples and families is a strong indication of the potential this segment holds. Through our three-city roadshow, we look forward to connecting with India’s wedding fraternity and showcasing the diverse possibilities Sri Lanka offers for memorable destination weddings.”

Chamila Jayarathne Deputy Managing Director-Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau

“The Indian wedding market is looking for destinations that can offer more than a beautiful backdrop, planners and families are seeking seamless hospitality, distinctive experiences and the ability to create celebrations that feel personal and memorable. Sri Lanka has a compelling story to tell in this space, with its beaches, luxury resorts, heritage, culture and experiential offerings. This roadshow across Hyderabad, Surat and Pune is designed to take that story directly to the wedding planners who are influencing destination choices, while the accompanying media press conferences will help build wider awareness and interest around Sri Lanka as a wedding destination”.

Buddhika Hewawasam Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau

With its easy accessibility from India, diverse venues, luxury hospitality, and ability to combine celebrations with memorable pre- and post-wedding experiences, Sri Lanka is positioning itself as far more than just a wedding backdrop. It is a destination where the wedding, the celebration, and the journey become one unforgettable experience.
