JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Manoj Kumar as Director of Finance. A Chartered Accountant with over 12 years of experience in financial management and operations across the luxury hospitality sector, Manoj brings to this role a rigorous command of financial governance, compliance, and strategic planning that will further strengthen the resort’s financial foundation.

Manoj’s association with JW Marriott Mussoorie is not new. He served as part of the hotel’s finance leadership between September 2018 and December 2021, a tenure during which he oversaw critical financial operations and contributed to the property’s compliance and reporting frameworks. He also brings experience from The Westin Himalayas Resort & Spa and most recently from Jaipur Marriott Hotel, where he served as Financial Controller from June 2023.

His earlier career includes the role of Financial Controller at Ibis Pune Viman Nagar, Finance Manager at Niranta Airport Transit Hotel & Lounge, and progressive finance positions at Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini, where he moved from General Ledger Executive to Assistant Manager — Finance. This wide-ranging exposure across full-service hotels, airport properties, and resort environments has given Manoj a versatile perspective on hospitality finance operations.

Manoj’s professional strengths include controls and audit management, budgeting and variance analysis, management reporting, taxation, and ERP implementation. He has led the transition of multiple properties from legacy accounting platforms to PSAP with zero disruption, and delivered Statutory and Internal Audits with zero material observations across his career. His cost-efficiency initiatives have also generated tangible results — including a cost-saving measure at a prior property that reduced monthly operational expenditure by over ₹8 lakhs through a shift from diesel to electric boiler systems.

Manoj holds a Chartered Accountant qualification from ICAI (November 2011), an IFRS certification from ICAI (December 2012), and a B.Com from the University of Delhi. He is proficient across hospitality-specific platforms including PeopleSoft, Sun Systems, Opera, FMC, and Tally.

In his new role at JW Marriott Mussoorie, Manoj will lead the Finance department with responsibility spanning financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and capital expenditure planning — working in close partnership with the General Manager and department heads to support the resort’s continued growth.
