Bengaluru, 12th August 2026: In a major step forward for India’s regional aviation landscape, Star Air—the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group has announced the launch of direct flights between Ahmedabad and Mundra (Kutch), commencing 17th August 2026. This new service forges a vital air bridge between two of India’s most influential economic centres: Ahmedabad, a city renowned for its role as a commercial, educational, and innovation hub; and Mundra, India’s largest private port and a linchpin in the nation’s logistics and export network.
Ahmedabad is not only the commercial capital of Gujarat but also a powerhouse in India’s broader economic story. The city’s vibrant mix of industry, finance, education, and culture has made it a magnet for businesses, students, and professionals from across the country. With a rapidly growing startup ecosystem and world-class infrastructure, Ahmedabad continues to set benchmarks for urban growth and economic dynamism.
Mundra, located on the Kutch coast, has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade. Once a quiet coastal town, it is now home to India’s biggest private port, handling a significant share of the nation’s international cargo. Mundra’s port-driven growth has stimulated industrial development, attracted global investment, and created opportunities for thousands of workers and entrepreneurs in the region and beyond. The port’s strategic importance extends across India, linking producers and exporters in multiple states to global markets.
Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer at Star Air, said, “The direct Ahmedabad–Mundra service is more than just a flight; it’s a strategic link between two of India’s most dynamic economic engines. By making travel faster and more convenient, we’re supporting the ambitions of businesses, entrepreneurs, and communities across the country.”
Until now, travelling between these two pivotal centres required long road journeys or inconvenient, indirect flights. Star Air’s new direct service changes this paradigm, offering a fast, seamless, and comfortable travel option tailored to India’s modern business and travel needs. The flight will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with early morning departures from Ahmedabad and evening returns from Mundra. This schedule is designed to maximize productivity and flexibility for business leaders, professionals, and families.
The new route is expected to deliver far-reaching benefits, not only for Gujarat but for India’s wider economic and logistics network. By easing access for key industries, supporting time-sensitive business operations, and enabling faster movement of people and goods, this direct connection will help drive national growth and competitiveness.
Tickets for the new Ahmedabad–Mundra flights are now available on www.starair.in and all leading travel platforms.
