Kolkata, India — Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata and Ozone Convention Center are pleased to announce the appointment of Prasanta Nandi as the new Director of Food & Beverage. Bringing with him over 15 years of rich experience across luxury and upper-upscale hospitality brands, Prasanta joins the property with a strong background in operational excellence, guest experience, commercial performance, and strategic Food & Beverage leadership.

Prasanta began his hospitality journey on the operations floor, gaining extensive hands-on experience across guest service, restaurant operations, bars, banqueting, and outdoor catering. This strong operational foundation continues to shape his leadership philosophy, enabling him to understand both guest-facing experiences and backend operations with equal depth and insight.

Over the course of his career, he has been associated with some of the industry’s most respected hospitality brands, including Hyatt, Marriott, Starwood, and The Leela Group. His professional journey has provided him with extensive exposure to restaurant management, beverage operations, large-format banqueting, outdoor catering, sales strategy, and overall departmental leadership.

Prior to joining Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, Prasanta served as the Director of Food & Beverage at Hyatt Centric Ballygunge Kolkata, where he led the hotel’s entire F&B ecosystem, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and dining strategy. Under his leadership, the hotel’s dining concepts earned several notable accolades. Cal-On and YAYAvar received recognition at the Times of India Food and Nightlife Awards 2025 and 2026 respectively, while YAYAvar was also honoured at the Telegraph Food Awards 2026. Cal-On further earned recognition as the Best Microbrewery/Taproom in the People’s Choice category by 30 Best Bars and ET F&B Leaders East, along with honours from the NDTV Food Awards and The Economic Times Restaurant and Nightlife Awards in 2025.

Throughout his career, Prasanta has successfully led multi-outlet F&B operations, managed large-scale banqueting and high-profile events, strengthened operational efficiencies, and driven strong financial performance. His contributions to the hospitality industry have been recognised through accolades such as the BW Hotelier National Zone Winner – Head of F&B 2024–25 and the F&B Manager Award by IHC London and IIHM in 2023.

Beyond his professional achievements, Prasanta is passionate about travelling, especially through rural India, where he draws inspiration from regional cuisines, cultures, and culinary traditions. He believes hospitality is shaped not only by service excellence and operational precision, but also by people, stories, and meaningful cultural connections through food.

In his new role, Prasanta will focus on strengthening Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata’s Food & Beverage offerings through enhanced guest experiences, operational consistency, market-relevant dining activations, and stronger commercial performance. His vision is to position the hotel as a warm, approachable, and dependable dining destination for both hotel guests and Kolkata’s local audience.

At Ozone Convention Center, his focus will be on elevating the venue’s positioning as one of Kolkata’s preferred destinations for weddings, conferences, corporate events, and social celebrations. With his expertise in large-scale banqueting and event management, he aims to create seamless and memorable experiences driven by thoughtful planning, efficient service, and personalised guest engagement.
