New Delhi, August 1, 2026: Indian Railways has approved the extension of the Ludhiana–Jakhal Daily Passenger Train up to Jind, strengthening direct rail connectivity between Punjab and Haryana.

Under Northern Railway, Train No. 54053/54054 will now operate between Jind and Ludhiana, replacing the earlier Ludhiana–Jakhal service.

The extension is aimed at improving regional mobility and providing more convenient rail access for daily commuters, students, office-goers, traders and passengers travelling between the two states.

Ludhiana–Jind Journey Extended to 200 km

With the extension, the train’s total journey distance will increase from 128 km to 200 km.
