Indian Railways Expands Train Accessibility with New Stoppages in Haryana and Rajasthan

New Delhi, June 22, 2026: In a passenger-focused move to strengthen regional rail connectivity, Indian Railways has approved additional stoppages for four trains at strategically important stations in Haryana and Rajasthan.

The new halts have been introduced after operational assessments and growing passenger demand, with the objective of improving accessibility and reducing dependence on neighbouring railway stations.

The approved stoppages include:

  • 54085/54086 Delhi–Satrod Passenger at Patuwas Meharana (Haryana).
  • 14619/14620 Agartala–Ferozpur Express at Hansi (Haryana).
  • 14717/14718 Bikaner–Haridwar Express at Hansi (Haryana).
  • 12981/12982 Jaipur–Asarva Express at Bijainagar (Rajasthan).

Improved Access for Regional Passengers

The new halt at Patuwas Meharana, located on the Rewari–Bhiwani rail section, will provide easier access for residents who previously depended on stations at Jharili and Charkhi Dadri. The additional stoppage is expected to improve daily commuting, educational travel and local mobility.

At Hansi, passengers will gain direct access to two important long-distance trains connecting eastern, northern and western India. Previously, travellers had to board these services from Bhiwani City or Hisar, making journeys longer and less convenient.

Similarly, the new stoppage at Bijainagar will improve connectivity between Rajasthan and Gujarat by providing direct access to the Jaipur–Asarva Express, benefiting business travellers, students and regular passengers.

Hospitality & Tourism Impact

The additional train stoppages are expected to improve accessibility to several regional destinations in Haryana and Rajasthan, making travel easier for domestic tourists, pilgrims and business travellers. Better rail connectivity often translates into increased demand for hotels, restaurants, local transport services and tourism-related businesses in smaller cities and emerging destinations.

For the hospitality industry, enhanced railway access supports weekend tourism, religious travel and regional business movement while encouraging greater visitor footfall in nearby destinations. The move also aligns with Indian Railways’ broader efforts to strengthen last-mile connectivity and promote inclusive tourism-led economic development across the country.
